Dr. Brett Kingma is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. As a board-certified pediatric dentist, he focuses on infants, children, teens, and any child who is medically compromised or has special needs. With compassion, a constant smile, and never-ending energy, he is committed to providing dentistry to your child in a safe, fun, and comfortable environment.
Dr. Brett grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, and could often be found working at his family’s longtime business, Kingma’s Market. He graduated from Hope College with a degree in psychology before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of Maryland. It was there that his interest in pediatric dentistry and treating those with special needs began.
Dr. Brett then went on to complete a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry in Denver, CO at the renowned Children’s Hospital Colorado where he received extensive training in treating children of all ages, including those with special needs. Dr. Brett also has considerable training in behavior management, laser dentistry, dental management of cleft lip and palate patients, treating children under sedation and general anesthesia, and limited orthodontics. He stays up-to-date on the latest research, techniques, and technology within pediatric dentistry to best treat your children. With Dr. Brett, learning never stops.
On his days off, Dr. Brett likes to spend time with his wife Erin, and their three children. He also enjoys road biking, camping, hiking, watersports, scuba diving, traveling, reading, and all things related to the University of Michigan, Detroit Lions, and Detroit Tigers.
